Please visit our COVID-19 Response page to see the latest updates. At this time, we are unable to have games/scrimmages until our area is upgraded to Phase 5 (we are currently Phase 4). We are, however, able to hold practices and are expected to begin practices in September for all divisions. If we receive further guidelines from our local health departments, we will make sure to communicate as quickly as possible. Thank you, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone very soon!
The following forms must be signed by all parents AND players before players will be allowed to practice:

PracticesPractices are scheduled by your child’s individual coach. All of our coaches are volunteers, and they are given the ability to choose a day/time/location for practices that works for their own work/home schedule. All practices are held on the various fields located within Hopkins parks and churches. The U5, U6, U8, and U10 divisions practice once a week at Hopkins North Park (or another local location as determined by your child's coach). The U5 and U6 divisions typically practice for 45 minutes, and the U8 and U10 divisions practice for an hour. The U12, U14, and U18 divisions have 2 practices per week (typically an hour each). All practices are held in the evening Monday through Friday. Your child’s coach will provide parents with a practice schedule.
GamesThe U5 through U10 division games are held on Saturdays at Hopkins North Park. The U5 through U10 divisions will have 1 game per week. U5 through U8 games will be held between 9a and 11:30a. U10 games will be held between 11:00a and 2:00p. The U12, U14, and U18 games are also typically held on Saturdays, but can also (rarely) be held on weekday evenings. Your child's coach will provide a game schedule before your first game.
Hopkins AYSO follows the FIFA, AYSO, and Hopkins AYSO rules for the games. Hopkins AYSO has the “3 quarter per game” rule. Each player on a team has to play 3 quarters before any other player on the same team may play 4 quarters. The total number of players in a given age group and the number of coaches have an affect on our ability to maintain this rule.
U5 & U6 Games The U5 & U6 games are “small-sided” 3v3 (U5) or 4v4 (U6). There are no goalkeepers. The ball size is 3. Coaches are out on the field with the players coaching and reffing the games. Games are divided into 4 quarters with substitution breaks between each quarter. Quarter length is 5 minutes for U5 and 8 minutes for U6. The U5 and U6 divisions use Hopkins North Park for their games.
U8 Games The U8 games are 7v7 with a goalkeeper. The ball size is 3. Quarter length is 10 minutes. These games are refereed by trained Adult and Youth (Assistant) Referees. The U8 division uses Hopkins North Park for their games.
U10 Games The U10 games are 7v7 with a goalkeeper. The ball size is 4. Quarter length is 12.5 minutes. These games are refereed by trained Adult and Youth (Assistant) Referees. There are no team standings. The U10 division uses Hopkins North Park for their games (NOTE: This is a change for Fall 2019 Season. U10 games/practices were previously held at Hopkins Community Church, but due to poor field conditions and standing water, games and practices will be moved to the Hopkins North Park for Fall 2019).
U12 Games
The U12 games are 9v9. A player may be a goalkeeper for 1 or 2 quarters per game and must fulfill the 3 quarter per game rule by playing in another position. The ball size is 4. Quarter length is 15 minutes. These games are refereed by trained Adult and Youth (Assistant) Referees. The U12 games are played at neighboring regions or at the Hopkins Community Church for Home games.
U14 Games
The U14 games are full 11v11. The “3-quarter” rule must be fulfilled before a goalkeeper can play 4 quarters. The ball size is 5. Quarter length is 17.5 minutes. These games are refereed by trained Adult and Youth (Assistant) Referees. The U14 games are played at neighboring regions or at the Hopkins Community Church for Home games.
U18 Games The U18 games are full 11v11. All FIFA, AYSO and Area 2N rules apply. The “3-quarter” rule must be fulfilled before a goalkeeper can play 4 quarters. These games are refereed by trained Adult Referees. Yellow and Red cards may be issued. Games consist of two 40-minute halves. The U18 games are played at neighboring regions.
